Jeremy HueyComposer and Conductor
Jeremy Huey (Berklee College of Music 2014) aims to become a composer, visual media scorer, and conductor. He has played timpani while learning music at FYCO till 2010. He had a composition for a small ensemble of Chinese instruments featured on the annual concert in May 2010. At Berklee, he has studied Western orchestration, harmony and instrumentation. His compositions have been performed in House of Blues Boston, Old South Church Boston, The Berklee College of Music, Monta Vista High School in Cupertino, and the California Theater in San Jose. His music has also appeared in a video game and short film. Jeremy has recently won the Berklee Composition Department's award for conducting original compositions of fellow students. He has managed weekly rehearsals of a 10-person ensemble and a 20-person Western Orchestra. His latest work is a one movement concerto for Dizi accompanied by Western instruments.
Received an MA in Trumpet performance from Vienna National Music Conservatory in Austria in 1985. A principal Trumpeter in Hong Kong City Symphony Orchestra 1979-1982, San Francisco Oriental Orchestra 1987-1990, and East Bay Symphony Band 1992-2000. Born in one of the most outstanding composing and conducting families in Beijing, Mr. JEN has also conducted many chorus, orchestras, and bands in the Bay Area.
